In 2006, 32 years after hosting the event in 1974, Germany will stage the 18th FIFA World Cup™. Twelve cities will play host to the 32 nations vying to be known as world champions. The opening match will be played in Munich on 9 June 2006, and the final on 9 July 2006 in Berlin.
