2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee

For the past 60 years, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has reigned as Queen of New Zealand with grace and dignity. In 2012 New Zealand Post is joining the rest of the world in celebrating her Diamond Jubilee, with the release of this official Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Coin.

Issue information

As the Head of the State of New Zealand, Queen Elizabeth II has developed a close bond with our small nation, having visited on numerous occasions. One of her most well known visits took place in 1953, when she famously delivered her Christmas message from Government House in Auckland. Significantly, this was her first and only Christmas message broadcast from outside Britain, and therefore it is fitting that is the subject of this impressive Diamond Jubilee coin.
