Issue information
New Zealand’s circulating currency coins are a reflection of our national identity. Whether it’s the cultural significance of the koruru on the ten cent coin, the historic importance of the Endeavour on the 50 cent coin, or the iconic kiwi on the $1 coin, each coin tells a story. Together they complete a picture about who we are as New Zealanders and the land in which we live.
Each of the five currency coins is uniquely dated 2012 and has been struck from fine silver (0.999) exclusively for this collection. For the first time, the ten cent piece is plated in gold, adding a special touch to this premium coin set. All five coins sit beautifully alongside each other inside a striking black gloss box, adorned with the year 2012 and one of New Zealand’s most recognisable icons - the silver fern.
With a worldwide mintage of just 1,000, the 2012 New Zealand Silver Currency Set is sure to be popular. This unique piece of New Zealand is a striking addition to any numismatic collection and makes the perfect gift for special occasions in 2012.
