The coin features the young couple holding a one month old Prince George, set against Government House in Wellington, New Zealand. Government House is the residence of Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor-General of New Zealand.

The Governor-General acts as the Queen’s representative and can bestow the Royal Assent on a bill, where it becomes an Act of Parliament.
